About Me

Just like Fred, I grew up in Tasmania. One day while staying out in the bushes about a half-hour from Launceston, I was ushered outside by my dad. He made it clear it was absolutely imperative we stay quiet. We watched silently on the outside deck in awe as a small creature scurried around not 2 metres from where we were standing. It was a Bettong. I had never seen one in my life. I knew of pademelons, wallabies, the devil, but I'd never even heard of a Bettong, and this shocked me, and left me inspired to know more about the place I'd lived my entire life.

That's why I decided to hire Fred as the tour guide (although it took some convincing). I hope getting to know Fred will inspire you to learn more about these awesome creatures, as you learn more about the place both Fred and I call home!
I believe with a depth of understanding and knowledge comes true appreciation.
I hope you can learn something new today, even if it is to just stop and think about the true origins of the places you go- what they were like, what will become of them and what lives there now.
